Discipline, not decoration.
Award-show sites in 2025–2026 run WebGL planets, shader-reactive cursors, and fully scroll-jacked narratives — the Active Theory / Lusion / Resn / Locomotive school. A $999 small-business site can’t carry that weight without breaking the exact thing it’s supposed to prove: that it’s fast. So the product’s real material is restraint — vanilla React, the DOM’s own IntersectionObserver and pointer events, disciplined anti-grid brutalism, bento-grid modularity used the way it was actually judged, not the trend-blog version of it.
Most template marketplaces bundle a 30–50kb animation library into every page for a single hover wobble. The three primitives below ship at effectively zero added weight — no Framer Motion, no GSAP pulled into a customer’s bundle, even though both are already installed elsewhere in this codebase. That is the actual competitive edge, not a marketing line: less to download is why the site this produces outruns the WordPress build it replaces.

Pulls a few px toward the pointer inside its hit area, springs back on leave. Off on touch and coarse pointers — there is no cursor to attract there, so it just sits still.
