How many designs do I actually need to start?

Short answer

Fewer than you think: five to ten in one niche is enough to open a store, test what sells and learn your printer or platform. Breadth comes after the first sales tell you what people want. Buying 500 designs before the first order is how people end up with 496 unused files.

——The details
  1. 01

    Start narrow

One niche, one product type, five to ten designs. A golden-retriever sticker set, not 'pet stickers'. You can describe the buyer; you can write the listings; you can judge the results.

  2. 02

Let sales choose the next ten

Two of the first ten will outsell the rest. Buy more like those. That is the whole growth loop for a design-based store.

  3. 03

    When to buy in bulk

Once you know which designs sell, a bundle of the same niche is cheaper per file than singles. Before that, singles keep your risk small.

——Common questions
Should I buy across niches to hedge?+

No. Spreading ten designs across five niches gives you five stores with two products each. Go deep first.

How do I know which niche?+

One you can describe the buyer of in a sentence. The catalog is organised by niche for exactly this reason.

What if my first ten do not sell?+

You have spent little and learned a lot. Change the niche, not the strategy.

——What this does not cover
  • —Apex does not promise any design will sell — no income claims, ever.
  • —A bundle does not make sense before your first sales tell you the niche; buy singles first.
↳Where this applies

Start with one niche.

Every design is filed by the buyer it is for. Pick the niche, buy five, sell, then buy the next five.

Reviews

We’re early. Real reviews only.

Apex Flow Digital launched recently. Every purchase comes with a request for honest feedback through our help center. When real buyers write real reviews, they go here — with their permission, by name. Until then, this section stays empty. No fakes. No stock photos. No bullshit.
