Rollup (Notion)
A rollup is a Notion property that aggregates or summarizes data from records linked through a relation.
A rollup pulls information from related records and condenses it — counting linked tasks, summing linked invoice amounts, or showing the latest linked date. It works only where a relation already connects two databases.
Rollups turn linked data into useful summaries without manual tallying. They are how a Notion dashboard can show live totals that update automatically as the underlying records change.
Relation (Notion)
A relation is a property that links entries in one Notion database to entries in another, connecting related records.
Relational database
A relational database organizes data into tables that are linked together by shared keys, so related records can reference one another.
Dashboard
A dashboard is a single screen that gathers key information and metrics into one view so a user can assess status at a glance.
